ISCRAM Doctoral Symposium

Following the ISCRAM tradition, the Doctoral Symposium will take place prior to the main conference on Sunday May 23rd, 2021. The annual symposium is dedicated to doctoral students seeking careers as researchers in public, private and academic organizations with research interests in crisis management.

The main objectives of the ISCRAM 2021 Doctoral Symposium are twofold:

  • Initiating a community of young researchers + discovering ISCRAM community
  • Building their Posters

General approach for the symposium:

  • Asking for a one minute video AND Asking for a self-location of their PhD subject a "ISCRAM framework" provided in advance.
  • Students must watch videos before the symposium and send the location of their subjects within the framework./li>
  • During the Symposium, students will
    1. get some information about good practices on how to make / present a poster,
    2. discuss about their connections on the basis of the provided "ISCRAM Framework"
    3. prepare their posters.
  • Present their poster during the poster session

Students' recruitment

Up to ten students are typically accepted for the symposium each year. Numbers are kept purposely small in order to offer high quality interaction and discussion.

The aim of the symposium is to assist candidates with their PhD research. All participants will work during the symposium on the design of a Poster.

Participation in the ISCRAM Doctoral Symposium is free. However, participants in the Doctoral Symposium must register for the main conference (a student rate is available).
